Wayne State University and Hebei University of Science and Technology have signed a general memorandum of understanding laying the groundwork for more Chinese undergraduate and graduate students to study engineering at Wayne State. President Irvin D. Reid and Li Qiang, president of Hebei University, signed the MOU Jan. 25 when a delegation from the Chinese technical university made up of vice presidents and several deans visited the Wayne State campus.

The doctoral program at the Wayne State University College of Nursing has been ranked No. 5 in the nation according to the new Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index, a ratings system produced by the New York-based for-profit firm Academic Analytics and financed in part by the State University of New York at Stony Brook. The rankings were published in the Jan. 12 edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education .
