November 19
President Jay Noren announced that Nancy Barrett has decided to step down from her position as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs and join the faculty, effective May 14, 2010.

Robert L. Thomas, dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Wayne State University since 2001 has agreed to a two-year contract extension through August 2012.

Plans are under way for the annual holiday celebration hosted by President Jay Noren. It will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at McGregor Memorial Conference Center and Alumni House. All faculty and staff members are invited to attend.

There is still time to participate in International Education Week, which continues through Friday, Nov. 20. The Office of International Programs (OIP), a division of the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS), has had enlightening events planned for the entire week.

Professor Michele Ronnick of the Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures has been elected president of the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS).
