People would be crazy to leave WSU to work for another company that could treat you like dirt while slowly cutting away at all your benefits! This place is the BEST!!!! - Julie
WSU is a great university to work for because the benefits and paid time off are generous compared to other companies in the US. However, the US as a whole (including WSU) should adopt a more European attitude where it is not uncommon for employees of many companies to have an approximate 8 week paid vacation which is important for morale and mental well-being. More importantly, paid maternity leave should be of a much longer duration since developing the parent child bond, from the beginning, is so very crucial to building strong families which are the foudation of a successful nation. - Robin
Meeting wonderful people from all backgrounds and cultures makes WSU a great place to work. - Rainelle
Although new to the campus, I already cannot imagine working anywhere else. Where else can you come in with limited knowledge, grow, and advance without penalty. All while making friends along the way. If that's not enough, free college, great benefits package, and extended benefits to family. -
I have always thought that WSU is a great place to work and the benefits are great, however, since I may not be able to be here much longer, my dept. budget has reduced my hours and so I might even have to be laid off, after 20 years of service, which means I have to find a full-time job somewhere, I say it is still a place, but I wish the unions had more to say about someone being ousted out after 20 years of service with excellent performance evaluations. I never thought that I would be in this situation with WSU and since there is a freeze on hiring and if they are hiring it is usually someone waiting for the position, lucky, I feel sad. If anyone can help or offer advice, please help. LOVE WSU. 7-0221 - Talmage
In my opinion, I am honored to work for Wayne State University. It is ever-changing here at the university. I've been here 30+ years and have loved every moment and feel that it is my pleasure to work for such a fine institution. - Debbie
I am completely unsupervised! Shhh. - Anonymous
What I like about working here at Wayne State, in addition to the great benefits offered to their employees, is that they always extend a helping hand to outside organizations. For instance, getting the employees to participate in donating to C.O.T.S., establishing teams to walk for breast cancer charities, as well as inviting weight loss companies in to education employees on how to live a more health conscience lifestyle. Giving back is a good quality to have-way to go WSU! - Lynn
